WHAT IS A DIETITIAN?
Accredited Practising Dietitians (APDs) are university-qualified professionals that apply the science of food and nutrition to promote health, treat and prevent chronic disease. Part of being an APD requires that they undertake ongoing training and education programs to ensure that they can provide evidence-based clinical nutrition services, individual dietary counselling, medical nutrition therapy, and food service management.
Dietitian’s in Australia who adhere to strict criteria are eligible to join the Accredited Practising Dietitian (APD) and therefore are recognised by Medicare, the Department of Veterans’ Affairs (DVA) and many other private health insurers in Australia.
HOW DOES A DIETITIAN WORK?
A Dietitian understands how diet and foundational nutrition impacts the body and uses this knowledge to treat a wide range of medical conditions. By training in medical nutrition therapy a Dietitian is able to translate scientific nutrition information into dietary advice that is personalised to the client.

WHAT TO EXPECT?
Your Dietitian will then provide a personalised treatment plan including diet advice & educational information to help you meet the goals identified in your consultation. If required, a meal plan can also be provided to assist in meeting your health goals.
We recommend returning every 2-4 weeks to monitor progress and adjust the goals to ensure your success.
